Kongsberg Maritime will deliver the latest version of its leading Engine Room Simulator (ERS), K-Sim Engine, to a new Applied Technology Facility at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) in New Zealand. Taking place in June 2014, this will be the first Kongsberg Maritime ERS delivery to a customer in New Zealand but one of many to leading maritime training institutions in the Southern hemisphere. The new three-story Applied Technology Facility at NMIT will feature a mixture of learning and teaching facilities including classrooms, workshops, simulation suites, ‘informal’ student spaces and staff offices. The scope of supply includes a Full Mission K-Sim Engine simulator with 15 student stations and an advanced instructor station.
